The experience of collaborating on this project was valuable for both of us. At times, each of us felt the other was incomprehensibly working vigorously at something of no apparent benefit. Yet each of us was patient with the other and began to appreciate the value of the collaboration. We began simultaneously with planning and rapid prototyping. In technical contributions, Dan worked up several macros and Kevin manipulated data sets and IO. Dan brought to the project strengths in method and quantitative knowledge. Kevin brought an urge for early results and a unique design ability to conceive the project in elegant simplicity. Each of us learned elements of the SAS language from the other that we might not have easily learned alone. All these factors contributed to a satisfying project outcome.
